This week the NC Chamber recognized NC Senator Todd Johnson as a “Jobs Champion” based on his pro-growth and pro-jobs voting record in its annual How They Voted report. How They Voted details state legislators’ voting records on bills identified as critical to preserving and enhancing North Carolina’s position in the global race for jobs. NC Senator Johnson scored a perfect 100% voting record. NC Senator Todd Johnson stated:“Over the last two years, nothing has proved more critical than ensuring North Carolina’s economy rebound from COVID. Families and small businesses have suffered tremendously – from job losses, educational opportunities and less take-home income. Our legislative efforts – be they educational, health care or tax related – have focused on providing North Carolina’s families and their businesses the support they need to move forward. I appreciate the NC Chamber’s recognition of our work on behalf of them.” The NC Chamber, a non-partisan business advocacy group, focuses on economic growth and job creation. NC Chamber President and CEO, Gary Salamido, stated "In an era of widespread economic uncertainty, North Carolina's job creators need to know which of our leaders are willing to act to give them more of the certainty they need. The bold leadership displayed by NC Senator Johnson in 2021 will help our businesses push past lingering uncertainty to fuel opportunity and recovery for North Carolinians. We look forward to continuing to work with NC Senator Johnson in the year ahead to foster renewed growth and success across our communities." This year’s “Jobs Champion” voting record scored 16 total bills, involving 17 House votes and 18 Senate votes. You can view this year’s edition of the NC Chamber’s How They Voted publication here.
